Salary sacrifice is when you give up the right to part of your pay in return for a non-cash benefit e.g. childcare vouchers.
The contract to receive tax and NI free childcare vouchers usually lasts for at least a year. Once the contract has expired or you withdraw from the scheme, you will revert to your original salary.
